The only treatment option available to people with no natural teeth left is a complete denture. A removable complete denture is a set of prosthetic teeth that is manufactured in a dental laboratory, based on the impressions taken and provided by the dentist. Upon delivery, necessary adjustments can be made to improve the fit and comfort as much as possible. It should be mentioned, however, that even under the best of circumstances and with every effort, the final result often turns out to be less than ideal. With no root support whatsoever, the stability of complete dentures is significantly compromised and its functionality (i.e. the biting and chewing ability) is diminished. Another, more long-term disadvantage of complete dentures is the eventual gradual attrition and fragility of the jaw bone.
