Uncertainty can cause a lot of undue stress. Our patients have confided in us that not knowing what to expect with their first visit left them feeling a bit uneasy.
Experience
We take great pride in making people feel welcome from the minute they walk in.
It starts with a personal greeting and it’s simply impossible to have that without knowing your name!
Engaged
One of the real treats of working in our industry is the daily interactions with our patients.
Getting to know each one keeps the environment fresh, inviting and collaborative.

Informal
We don’t like to stand on ceremony too much.
It is true that we offer professional services, but we like to think that this doesn’t preclude us from offering those services in a relaxed and informal environment.
Family Friendly
It is always our pleasure to welcome families into the practice.
We enjoy the energy that children bring wherever they go and so we have made every effort to make the environment entertaining and comfortable for children and their parents. Our team thrives on these interactions and our younger patients really respond to that!

Unhurried
Everything today is rushed and squeezed into tight timelines and deadlines.
When it comes to your health, we don’t subscribe to that approach. We allocate an appropriate amount of time for each of our appointments so that our schedules run on time and our patients get to feel relaxed and comfortable with the treatment that they receive.
Your First Visit
We have taken that to heart and try to set the expectations right from the start. Here are fourteen things that you should know about your first visit.
First appointment
It should last about one and a half hours.
Prior Arriving
Please plan on arriving at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment time so you can take care of some administrative tasks.
When you arrive
One of our administrative team members will walk you through the paperwork and explain some of our practice policies.
At the time of your appointment
You will be introduced to your hygienist who will give you a brief tour of the practice and then set you up in her clinical area. Your hygienist will review your medical and dental history in greater detail with you.
A set of x-rays will be taken; these will help us set important baseline measurements for your oral health.
Next comes a thorough examination and evaluation of your periodontal health (including measurements and “charting”/documentation).
To help us keep track of your progress, we will take some pictures with our intra-oral camera. You will be able to observe and ask questions during the entire procedure.
Your hygienist will then “clean” your teeth and apply a fluoride treatment, if necessary.
Next, your dentist will come in and discuss with you your oral health short-term needs and long-term goals. She will perform a thorough examination of your teeth and the entire oral cavity.
Your dentist will explain her findings and discuss options and possible recommendations.
Your hygienist will review the findings once again and answer any remaining questions you may have.
She will schedule your next “hygiene” appointment.
Finally, back at the front desk, a member of our administrative team will complete the remaining paperwork, schedule any additional appointments (if necessary) and answer any questions.
